What is AI visibility?
AI visibility: AI visibility is how often, and how accurately, AI assistants (Google AI Overviews and AI Mode, ChatGPT, Perplexity, Copilot, Claude) mention and describe a business when people ask questions it should be the answer to. Low visibility means being omitted; low accuracy means being described wrongly.
Also called: AI search visibility, brand visibility in AI, AI citation share.

Why it matters
A growing share of local and service searches now ends in a generated answer rather than a list of links. If the answer names three med spas and yours is not one of them, the click never happens; if it names yours but gets the hours or services wrong, the client arrives annoyed or not at all.
How it is measured
Honestly, and only over samples: Google Search Console’s generative-AI report and Bing Webmaster Tools’ AI performance report (impressions), GA4’s AI-assistant referral channel (traffic), and a versioned prompt set (brand, category, comparison, local) run across the assistants on a schedule, with raw outputs logged. Movement is claimed after three samples, not one screenshot. Hyrizen’s AI visibility audit is the starting measurement.
